National Service Scheme (NSS) Report

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Sri Ramakrishna College has actively engaged in various community service initiatives and awareness programmes throughout the academic year. Under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Bhavya & Mrs. Seetha PK, the volunteers have consistently worked towards the betterment of society while nurturing values of social responsibility and teamwork.
 
Our College NSS Unit bagged State Award in the year 2013 -14, also Mr. Natesh Alva K bagged best programme officer Award in the year 2013-14.
 

Highlights of the NSS Activities

                                                                                                           Swachhata  Hi Seva

A campus cleaning drive was organized on 2nd October 2024, Over 50 NSS volunteers actively participated in cleaning the college premises and nearby areas, promoting hygiene and environmental consciousness.

Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration

On 2nd October 2024, a floral tribute was paid to Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait, followed by bhajans and speeches highlighting Gandhiji’s philosophy of non-violence and truth.

 

                                                                               Blood Donation Camp

 A voluntary blood donation camp was held on 23rd October 2024 in collaboration with Youth Red Cross Unit of SRCM. A total of 102 units of blood were collected from students and faculty members.
 
 Special Camp
A 7-day NSS Special Camp was organized from 13th to 19th January 2025 at Sri Ramakrishna Aided High School Pavoor Harekala.  The week long programme not only strengthened the students connection to the community but also enhance their leadership teamwork and service oriented mind set.
 

Conclusion

 The NSS unit of Sri Ramakrishna College continues to uphold its motto “Not Me, But You”, encouraging students to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation. The initiatives undertaken have not only benefited the community but also instilled leadership and social responsibility among the student volunteers.
