Introduction
This policy document outlines the guidelines and procedures for the functioning of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at Sri Ramakrishna College, Bunts Hostel Circle, Mangalore – 575003, Karnataka, in accordance with UGC guidelines and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Objectives
- To prevent and address sexual harassment complaints.
- To ensure a fair and impartial inquiry.
- To recommend appropriate actions while maintaining confidentiality.

Functions of ICC
- Conduct awareness programs on gender sensitization.
- Receive and address complaints related to sexual harassment.
- Conduct fair, unbiased, and confidential inquiries.
- Recommend disciplinary actions as per guidelines.
- Maintain records and submit annual reports.
Roles and Responsibilities
Chairperson
- Presides over ICC meetings.
- Coordinates and monitors ICC activities.
- Ensures compliance with UGC guidelines and law.
- Submits annual reports to the institution.
Members
- Attend meetings and assist in investigations.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
Student Representative
- Acts as a liaison between students and ICC.
- Represents student perspectives.
External Expert (NGO)
- Provides legal and procedural expertise.
- Ensures unbiased investigation.
Complaint Procedure
- Complaints may be submitted in writing through designated channels.
- Preliminary inquiry will be conducted within seven days.
- Investigation will be completed within 30 days.
Confidentiality
All information related to complaints and investigations shall be kept strictly confidential to protect the dignity and privacy of all parties involved.
Awareness and Prevention
- Regular awareness programs and training sessions are conducted.
Reporting
- ICC submits an annual report detailing complaints and actions taken.
