The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a vital part of our institution’s academic and administrative framework. Established in accordance with the guidelines of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the IQAC at Sri Ramakrishna College, Mangaluru, plays a crucial role in planning, guiding, and monitoring quality assurance (QA) and enhancement activities.

The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution. It works towards promoting a culture of excellence by institutionalizing quality assurance strategies and processes.

 

Objectives:

  • To ensure continuous improvement in the entire operations of the institution.
  • To enhance the academic and administrative performance.
  • To promote innovative practices for academic excellence.

 

Functions of IQAC:

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks.
  • Facilitating a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education.
  • Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders.
  • Documentation of various programs/activities leading to quality improvement.
  • Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC.

To channelize the efforts and measures of the institution towards academic excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.

 

Mission:

To establish and maintain a robust internal quality assurance mechanism that fosters the holistic development of students and sustains institutional accountability and transparency.


Committees under IQAC and Their Activities

At Sri Ramakrishna college, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) oversees and coordinates the efforts of several committees that contribute to the continuous enhancement of academic and administrative quality. These committees work collaboratively to promote excellence, innovation, and inclusivity in the institution.

Below are the key committees functioning under the guidance of IQAC and their core activities:

    Designs and reviews academic calendar and teaching plans.
    Organizes faculty development programs (FDPs), workshops, and seminars.
    Promotes research, innovation, and best teaching practices.
  2. Examination and Evaluation Committee
    Ensures timely and transparent conduct of examinations.
    Implements internal assessment and result analysis.
    Maintains academic integrity during assessments.
  3. Research and Development Committee
    Encourages faculty and student research projects.
    Facilitates publication of research papers and patents.
    Coordinates with funding agencies for sponsored research.
  4. Student Support and Progression Committee
    Conducts student induction, mentoring, and counseling.
    Organizes career guidance and placement drives.
    Monitors student feedback and grievance redressal.
  5. Extension Activities / NSS / Social Outreach Committee
    Plans and executes community engagement programs.
    Conducts health camps, awareness rallies, and environment drives.
    Strengthens the college’s social responsibility initiatives.
  6. Cultural and Co-curricular Activities Committee
    Organizes cultural events, competitions, and talent fests.
    Encourages participation in inter-collegiate fests.
    Fosters holistic development through art and performance.
  7. Gender Sensitization and Women Empowerment Cell
    Conducts awareness programs on gender equality and rights.
    Promotes women-centric initiatives and self-defense training.
    Supports female students and staff through mentorship.
  8. Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
    Addresses issues related to sexual harassment and workplace safety.
    Ensures compliance with Vishaka Guidelines and POSH Act.
    Promotes a respectful and inclusive institutional culture.
  9. Green Campus / Eco Club
    Implements sustainable practices like waste management, rainwater harvesting, etc.
    Organizes environmental awareness campaigns and plantation drives.
    Promotes energy conservation and eco-friendly practices.
  10. Alumni and Stakeholder Engagement Committee
    Builds strong alumni networks and engages them in mentoring and support.
    Collects feedback from alumni, employers, and industry experts.
    Organizes alumni meets and collaborative programs.
